President’s Report (Kevin)
We have accomplished tons this past year including such things as the court conversion, the inaugural tournament, increased membership, court maintenance, and hosting coaching and officiating clinics.
Most of our memberships are full year rather than partial or casual memberships which reflects a commitment to the club and helps with club stability. Cash flow does remain a challenge, but it seems to be a diminishing challenge as we increase our membership.
All in all, we had a very successful year.
Financial Report (Norm L.)
Distributed a balance sheet and an income statement as at August 31, 2008.
We are currently working with a deficit of $2736.47 and while the revenue and expense amounts have been properly recorded, their categorization may still require some fine tuning. The club has borrowed $3000 from Community Futures organization to help with cash flow.
We will await an update from the City of Revelstoke before we adopt the financial statement.

Tournament Update
Things are looking good as of today for the upcoming tournament as we already have 14 out of town registrations. We are expecting visitors from Calgary, Salmon Arm, Kamloops, Kelowna, and Vernon. In conversations with the Nelson players, they anticipate bringing a sizable crew as well. We always look forward to the Nakusp group showing up in Revelstoke. Local players need to register soon if they don’t want to miss out.
The Powder Springs Inn has been confirmed as the tournament hotel with a room charge of $69/night. They will also host the dinner at a rate of $18.95 per person plus taxes and gratuity.
Kevin has begun discussions around prizes. Shirts have been purchased.
Keith has a design for the referee stands to build. We will borrow the risers from the school again rather than build spectator stands. Chairs can be borrowed from the Community Center as well.
Angus is organizing the refreshments center.
Membership Drive / Fundraising
To have 70 members would mean that we could easily meet all our financial obligations. As usual, it would be great if each member were to sign up one or two members.
Other business
Drop in night will move to Thursday night at 8:00 pm where any and all players can drop in for games amongst themselves. Wednesday night at 7:00 pm will become player development night where folks new(er) to the game or players looking for a bit of advice about their game can drop in with one of our coaches.
